چکیده
According to the US Department of Energy, succinic acid (SA) is a top platform chemical that can be produced from biomass. Bread waste, which has high starch content, second most wasted food in UK and serve as potential low cost feedstock for production SA. This work evaluates environmental performance proposed biorefinery concept SA by fermentation waste bread using cradle-to-factory gate life cycle assessment approach. The was assessed terms greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions non-renewable energy use (NREU). Waste demonstrated better profile compared fossil-based system, however, GHG were about 50% higher processes other biomass feedstocks such corn wet mill or sorghum grains. NREU fermentative significantly lower (~ 46%) than system same established biomass-based processes, thus proving great valuable bioproduction useful chemicals. results show steam heating oil used process biggest contributors emissions. Sensitivity analyses highlighted importance solid generated potentially fish feed. LCA analysis targeted optimization thereby enabling utilization an otherwise stream leading establishment circular economy.

Production of Caproic Acid from Mixed Organic Waste: An Environmental Life Cycle Perspective
Caproic acid is an emerging platform chemical with diverse applications. Recently, a novel biorefinery process, that is, chain elongation, was developed to convert mixed organic waste and ethanol into renewable caproic acids. In the coming years, this process may become commercialized, and continuing to improve on the basis of numerous ongoing technological and microbiological studies. This stu...

Research aims Escherichia coli YggS is a highly conserved pyridoxal phosphate (PLP)-binding protein whose biochemical function is unknown. We found that a yggS-deficient E. coli s t ra in (ΔyggS ) accumulates an unusual metabol i te , ophthalmic ac id (γ-L-glutamyl-L-2-aminobutyryl-glycine, Fig. 1). This ∆yggS mutant is the first microorganism that accumulates high levels of ophthalmic acid. Op...
متن کاملLife Cycle Assessment of Municipal Solid Waste Management in Tehran
Due to increasing solid waste generation and their significant impacts on human health, environmental assessment of the management and disposal methods become more and more important. There are various disposal methods which are the combinations that originate from a wide range of solid waste management systems. In this study, municipal waste of Tehran (which totals to 7507.5 tons/day) is asses...
متن کاملCommentary on Succinic Acid and Poly-γ-glutamic Acid Production using Lignocellulosic Waste Biomass
Lignocellulosic biomass, which contains cellulose (40-50%), hemicellulose (25-50%) and lignin (10-40%), is the most abundantly available raw material on Earth [1]. Broadly, it is classified into three categories: virgin biomass, waste biomass and energy crops. Owing to the rapid growth of global population and corresponding agricultural activities, the amount of lignocellulosic waste biomass is...
متن کاملProduction of succinic acid by bacterial fermentation
Succinic acid produced by various microorganisms can be used as a precursor of many industrially important chemicals in food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. The assessment of raw material cost and the estimation of the potential market size clearly indicate that the current petroleum-based succinic acid process will be replaced by the fermentative succinic acid production system in the...
